Owl Crib Hanger Free design: make in your hoop, tutorial below. For 7" and 4"hoop
I was making quilts
with Provencal type fabric and minky for our street festival, when my
daughter suggested making these owls, using the left over bits of minky and
quilt cotton, to go with them, partially stuffed with polyester and
lavender, they look and smell wonderful, while soft to the touch.Click
for free design.
Hoop fabric and stabilizer.
Sew the appliqué placement
Place piece of minky,or chosen
fabric over the placement stitches.
Cut away excess minky or fabric
After eye circles and minky has
been sewn, place a little piece of water soluble stabilizer in
After all owl details are embroidered, pin ribbon facing
down to the center of owls head
Sew one owl outline to sew ribbon, and fabric placement
Sew outline and remove hoop.
Cut around outline stitches.
I use left over minky cuttings
as stuffing as well as polyester. It saves waste and is really soft,
and 100% polyester.
I added dried lavender
too, It's easier with a funnel.
Sew up the bottom, tiny slip iches, and
YOUR OWL !!
